André Kertész: Project Space
March 8 - April 21, 2018
James Barron Art is pleased to announce an exhibition of photographs by André Kertész from the Estate of Lynn and Steven Barron.
The Hungarian-born photographer is known as one of the most important photographers of the twentieth century. His intuitive process and unusual style merged photojournalism with a surrealist aesthetic. This combination captured everyday life with spontaneity, but also a sophisticated understanding of composition. "You don't see" the things you photograph, he explained, "you feel them."
Our exhibition includes many of Kertész’s most celebrated images. They were acquired by Lynn and Steven Barron in the early 1980s, and have never before been exhibited.
