“Landing in downtown New York [in 1980], I suddenly understood that my obsession with geometry was coming from this complex built environment, from the way the spaces around me were organized.” Peter Halley
“Opposing forces give a dynamic to the work... They are also integral to our lives spent immersed in urban landscapes where geometry dominates, just as they respond to tensions between experiential material and abstraction or conceptual thought, between extremes such as chaos and order, chance and regime.”
